All in wonder Pro 9000

When trying to convert video from the library program in Launchpad it tells
me that I dont have enough drive space to convert from [.vcr] extension to
mpeg. I have 35 gig on the drive and the video is 2.5 gig to start with. I
am using the Catylist software off of the CD of which the launchpad is ver
8.1. Any ideas ??
I have
Win XP Pro
512 ram
AMD Xp 2500
All in Wonder 9000 Pro
1-60 gig HD/3 partitions 20,20,20, master
1-40 gig /35 gig free

I have 1 1/2 mb in system temp. I forgot to mention that the library program
from the launchpad tells me that I do not have enough room on each or any
of my partitions or the 40 gig.
