I am waiting for multimedia compatibility, for all the All-in-Wonders I have
purchased over the years, before I purchase Vista.

"...never happening, sorry you spent all that money, because those products
are no longer supported, Suckers!..."

Well, I guess I am never purchasing ATI or Windows Vista. Screw you too,
ATI and Microsoft!

Why Vista?
I'd say, keep Vista where it is: in the stores!

Always upgraded to the latest OS myself.
Won't do that anymore.
Vista doesn't add anything for me.
It just makes my PC slower.

Marcel

Yeah, I tried Vista 64. That won't actually install. So tried Vista 32.
That will install, but the ATI drivers are so bad they won't even extend
desktop over multiple screens yet. So back to good 'ole XP...

Strange, when I tried the Vista Beta's both 32 and 64 bit versions I
had no problems with running two monitors. My problem was no working
sound driver for the Beta2 version. But I see no reason to move to
Vista now its out in the stores. Support for XP is going to run thru
09 so only after it ends will I even look at Vista again.

Me too!

I will never buy any other ATI graphic video cards again and also will
never, ever buy VISTA. Staying with XP and some other graphic video card.
ATI stinks!!!

I'm SURE AMD and MS are SO sorry to see you go...

Bill Gates was reported to be on the verge of tears.
AMD has not replied to inquiries at this time.
More news at eleven.

Isn't it strange when people have older technology and get angry when
support falls off on the item? Steam power is not support either, Damn I
hate those guys for that.

While there are AIW cards that go back to about 1995, I just bought my
AIW 2006 PCI Express card a few months ago. There should be Vista
support for products that were still being made & sold in 2006.

I don't consider my ATI 2006 AIW agp that old, I just bought it 3 months
ago. ATI/AMD say it's vista ready, but, only the video graphics part, NOT
the TV tuner that comes with it.

So what good is it? If you can't use it all.

You can't use it - YET. ATI has said they will be coming out with drivers
for the AIWs that let you use the TV portion.

I trash my AIW card too and never buy again any AIW.
I had big problems with drivers, now I see it isn't supported in Vista.

So i've bought DVB-S card SkyStar2. Beying few years old it has Vista
drivers now! ATI/AMD look and learn!

Amazingly, even to my own surprise, I have had no problems with my AIW
2006 PCI Express card under XP, and there is a Vista driver for it on
the ATI web site. I don't know if this driver is display only or
supports the tuner, but apparently (for this 2006 card at least) the
tuner will be supported at some point even if it's not at this time.

I've just replaced both my printer and my scanner because neither will
be supported under Vista.

The Vista Catalyst drivers on the AMD site are for video only.

As of now anyone with AIW (2006 or otherwise is orphaned and obsoleted
for the built-in TV and radio tuners).

This screw-your-customer approach of AMD-ATI has embittered me about
using their products prospectively. I guess for the foreseeable future
its Intel for CPUs and NVIDIA for video cards and someone else for TV
tuners, until these adopt a more strident screw-your-customer
approach. That seems to be the fashion amongst large companies these
days.

I couldn't have said it better myself...

NO more new All in wonder products. This is proof that there will not be any
more TV tuner drivers for All in wonder products (maybe for XP, Yeah!
Right). Just a video graphics card, if you have the new operating system
Vista.

I looked at what the clearance prices are for my AIW card (AIW 9600 128MB
Agp) is, and WOW!! I paid $199 for the retail version 4 months ago.

I guess I'm a sucker looking at this...haha! ATI got me good.

NVIDIA doesn't have their drivers finished for Vista, either. If your
hardware works with the OS you currently use, why can't you just wait
until the drivers are ready for Vista? Or is this just a troll, and you
hooked me?

What kind of idiot would compare retail prices from 4 months ago to
current refurbished prices? That's like apples and oranges, no wait,
it's like comparing apples and spaghetti.

....and I'm the sauce that pours on the spaghetti. Meaning...pay high prices
for end of life products. Yeah! I'm an idiot for buying ATI products.

Other people report that a full driver that supports all functionality
will be released at least for the AIW 2006, later this year.

There are tons of products for which no drivers are available, and in
many cases they won't ever be available. I had to replace my scanner
(high end stand alone with automatic duplexing document feeder) for this
reason.

But, again, there is a report (unconfirmed) that ATI will fully support
the AIW 2006 (and possibly some other recent models) later.

AMD/ATI has changed their plan and now says there will be future AIW
products.
