Hi - I'm thinking of upgrading my TV tuner videocard, and the
AIW 9800 definitely seems to be the best option for performance and
compatibility. My present videocard is a Matrox G450 eTV, which has
several problems -
- No DirectX 9 support, and not much for DirectX 8.
- Goofy proprietary MPEG codec that can't be read by
any other video editing program.
- Only 32 meg of RAM on the card.
I'm interested in finding out more about the TV tuner
capabilities of the AIW 9800 from someone that has one. I currently
have analog cable; can the AIW tune in digital over-the-air
broadcasts? How about HDTV? And would anyone have some still frame
captures from digital TV broadcasts? I realize you can't post them
here because it's not a binaries group, but if someone could put some
examples up on a binaries group or their personal webpage (or Yahoo!
filespace) I'd really be interested in seeing how the quality compares
to regular analog TV.
Thanks in advance!
