I sure hope a wizard can help me here. I'm a tech working on a older piece
of process equipment that uses a 386 processor with DOS 6.2 and a EGA-like
video output. The monitor recently died and I'm trying to find a better fix
than just buying a used EGA monitor.
Video resolution required is 640x400. The system uses a proprietary video
adapter now on a ISA bus. I want to replace it with a VGA adapter.
Here's the question... I have several old pulls of ATI All-in-Wonder 16
cards that are ISA and look like they will output both VGA and EGA, so I
want to set this thing up to use a more-standard VGA monitor. Since all this
stuff is older, I can't find a lot of info on the Web or Usenet about what's
required here. Do I need an ATI setup program for DOS, and is it available
somewhere? Should I look for a different type of ISA card?
Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.... Thanks.
