have XP, using a HP all in one 2110. Worked Ok till a week ago, now jobs go
to the queue and a message comes up saying an error occurred. Have done the
troubleshooter thing, and had a check from the HP site - all OK with the
printer. Managed to get one page printed from Notepad, then no more. Any
ideas please?

I'm having a similar problem. Mine is a PSC 500.

The printer has worked fine for a few years, and now it has started to fail.
Here are the changes I made prior to the problem starting:
1. upgraded to XP SP2
2. installed WiFi network connection and shared printer
3. installed printer multiple times, each with different settings, for
Normal, Draft, Best, Black/White printing.

The idea of #3 was to be able to have canned settings I could select by
sending a report to one of the printers.

I deleted the extra printers and now have only one instance of the printer
in my Printers and Faxes folder, and
for the moment it seems to be working.

Did you find a resolution?

I have the same problem with my PSC 500. The printer works fine for a few
days, then starts generating error messages as you describe. The only
solution is to reboot the system.

I have fully uninstalled the printer, any driver I could find for the
printer, and then added the printer to make sure I was getting XP SP2
drivers. This has not helped.

Still no fix. It scans OK, no problems show up in Device Manager with USB
connections or printer. I reinstalled it with the latest driver from a disc,
and it works fine the first day of installation, then after shutdown, nothing
again. I find the print queue won't completely delete the final print job
either...it just sits there saying it is deleting but nothing happens.
