All Certificates for Outlook contacts aren't shown in MMC

Hello;

Got a question (obviously).

I work offline using a POP connection to send and receive, and download
contact info manually from a DoD LDAP server whenever I need to update
certificates for my contacts (or find new ones).

I recently discovered I could view the expiration dates using the MMC
Certificates snap-in (so I know when to go find an updated certificate for
that person), but the problem is that not all my contacts show up. When I go
back to the contacts folder in Outlook and manually check to see if the
contact has a certificate, it's there.

About 1/2 of the contacts I have in Outlook show up in the MMC Certificates
snap-in, the rest just aren't there. I only have one Contacts folder
(Personal Folders).

Is there more than one place that Outlook would store the certificates for
contacts?

I ususally use IE's Tools>Internet Options>Content>Certificates. I like the
interface a little better.

As far as I can tell, Outlook uses the same crypto store that the
certmgr.msc MMC snap-in uses. You are looking at the "Other People" folder,
correct?
 
Correct. I am looking at the "Other People" folder and numerous entries are
just not there, but they do show up in the Outlook Contacts folder, and I can
check the certificate for those contacts and they have one. I've poked around
other "folders" to see if they are somewhere else and don't see them
anywhere, but they are attached to the contact in outlook.

Very strange.
