I have been having this problem with IE, there is this certain webpage that I
and all of my other collegues use, they can all acess it, but I can not. I
get the "Web Page Can Not be Displayed" I can get into any other web page but
this one. Ive disable all firewall settings on XP, im using a SMG Gateway
cable router from Comcast.

I have been on the phone with the webpages IT tech support. I had to get
broadband to use this webpage, so I thought it may have something to do with
the cable modem not letting me in to this site. I have been on the phone with
Comcast tech support and the webpaged tech support over the last few days for
over 16 hours, and Im sick and tired it.
Any help from the people that I trust, would be more than appreciated

thanks
chris

Have you checked your HOSTS file?

For example: If you're trying to reach www.bookmark.com there may be an
entry in the HOSTS file similar to:
127.0.0.1 www.bookmark.com
if so, just delete the entire line.

This file is found here: C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc
NOTE: there is no extension to the file and you can open/edit it with
Notepad.

Hi,
First... Good tip from jopa66 on the HOSTS file.

A couple of easy basic steps:
1. A complete shutdown for about 5 minutes- computer, modem, router,
everything.
2. Clear the IE cache. IE> Tools> Internet Options> General> Delete
files (and delete offline content.) It's often recommended that the TIF
folder be kept at about 50 MB (Settings.)
3. Check your Cookies folder- delete any cookies from that site.
4. Try opening a Cmd window (or from Start> Run) enter
[ipconfig /flushdns] (without the [ ] )
then restart.

Other possibilities:

http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;870700

Hope this helps,
Don
