So far as I know this applies to the psc 1510.

Thanks. That means I must clean or replace the color cart, which must be in
good
condition, along w/black, for the alignment sheet to print only the first
time the printer is
turned on after removing a cart. Somebody here recommended "Cancel," as
soon as the printer
was on, to stop the printing of the alignment sheet after the first time.
His workaround worked.
Once. But now my printer continues to waste ink (from a small cart). I
must choose among different
and even conflicting methods of cleaning nozzles (printhead?) and/or
electrical contacts. I'm trying to
fix it without spending money. HP says alcohol will hurt the contacts but
somebody online said alcohol
worked for him. I rarely use color so this bug bugs me. How does the
printer clean its nozzles? Is there
a cleaning liquid inside?
please email (e-mail address removed)
Tony said:Inkjet printers clean the heads using the ink in the cartridges. Some HP
printers recycle this ink back into the cartridge but most printers (of all
manufacturers) waste the ink, collecting it in some pads or a reservoir in the
printer. I am surprised that HP say that alcohol will damage the contacts but I
guess it depends which alcohol you use; Isopropyl alcohol is commonly used for
this since it leaves no residue and does not damage plastics or metal.
For most printers of this class you must have a working black and colour
cartridge for the alignment process to work. Also it is not that likely that
cleaning the contacts will fix the problem, only a new cartrdige is likely to
do that.
Good luck.

I read it in another forum. Someone keeps and uses a "ready" printed
alignment sheet for cheating the printer that both black and color carts are
working...
p.s. there is no matter the forum, just someone asked for scans of alignment
sheets, and I realized how he want to use them. Interesting idea!
Another good idea! Where can I get alignment sheet scans?
[your language is a little unclear]
Sorry for that, my English is not very well...

I don't have a mfp printer, so I can't help you. It's better to begin a new
thread asking for the specific printer's alignment page. I'm sure, someone
would send it.
