I'm trying to determine if there is an 'easy way' of aligning controls on a
report that use a preformatted form ??

What I've tried so far is to scan the preformatted form and dump directly
into Access then align the controls so they lined up with the scanned image.
The main problem I'm having with this method so far is that I can seem to
set and the margins to zero on the report. I have turned off the auto name
and have upgraded to SR1a in Access 2000.

Any ideas or suggestions would sure be appreciated.

If you are going to use Access 2000, there are THREE Service Releases /
Service Packs and you need ALL of them. I did something similar to what you
want to do when printing W-2 Forms... I measured the pre-printed forms and
roughly located the controls, printed the data on a plain sheet
(lightest-weight paper I had), held it up against the forms, adjusted, and
repeated... only when I thought I had everything right did I load the
preprinted form to verify... and, surely enough, had to adjust some more.

No, Access and Windows take into account your printer's margins, so you
can't set the margins to zero. You can, at best, set them to the printer's
minimum. But, since you won't be printing to the edge of the preprinted
form, you can just take the margin settings into consideration in
calculating the initial "rough" positioning of the controls.
