Alias for contacts in Outlook - e.g. Bill and William

It would be great to find a contact when creating an e-mail with more than
one name - e.g. William, as well as Bill or Jim as well as James. If I put
in two contacts, then I have to update all the information for two and risk
not updating both.

Outlook rightly considers Bill and William as separate entities - many
father/son combinations like this exist.

But unfortunately the nickname field is excluded from any searches except
Advanced Find...
