Alerts scroll off screen too quickly

Currently when alerts appear from MSAS, they scroll very
rapidly up (or down) the right hand side of the screen
and vanish. I do not have a chance to read or even
answer the question on the alert.

If I click alt tab, I can see that the alert exists as
one of the switchable programs but when selected is not
brought into the foreground or even made visible.

OS: Windows XP Profession SP2

I do suspect it may be related to MS Virtual Desktop
manager. Has anyone else experience the same problem?

Yep, I'm having the same problem.

Everything works fine on my vanilla Win2K home system
(except MSAS won't start with Windows) and on my WinXP Pro
laptop - the alerts pop-up in the corner and behave
themselves.

At work however, I'm running a dual-monitor Windows XP
setup. I can't get to the alerts because they go winging
off the screen (and there's no catching them), which is
most annoying because one of my own start-up scripts is
being blocked. MSAS waits for me to tell it to allow the
script to run, but I can't get to the alert to click
the "Allow" button.

The usual trigger for this bug is not having the taskbar set at the bottom
of the window. This is a known issue, and being worked on.

Thanks for the report, though!

This bug is usually a result of having the taskbar in a position other than
bottom of the window--I'm interested in your mention of MS Virtual
Desktop--and trying to discern whether in your case, the issue can be tied
to the taskbar position, or whether there's an additional issue with MS
Virtual Desktop, which I'm not familiar with.

What I did (after reading in about the taskbar being on the bottom) was
move my bar to the bottom, ran my batch file which triggered it, picked
"allow" and then moved my taskbar back to the left where I keep it. I still
see one fly by now and then, but they're green so I figure those are OK.
I'm sure that'll be one of the things they'll get fixed.... :)
