Most likely you've set Active Scriting to "Prompt" in the Internet Zone.
Click on Tools||Internet Options||Security(tab)||Internet(zone)||Custom
Level||Scripting||Active Scripting
Remove the tick in the radial next to "Prompt" and choose either Enable or
Disable.

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

in internet zone, security custom the only things i have marked for prompt are:
installation of desktop items
launching applications and unsafe files
launching applications in an Iframe
download signed active x controls
everything else is either enabled or disabled.....i have rebooted and
checked the settings stay the same.

This is how that setting "Scripting/Active Scripting" in the Internet Zone
Custom Security level should work.
1. If you set Active scripting to "Enable", IE will run all scripts on the
Web pages you visit.
2. If you set Active scripting to "Disable", IE doesn't display any
warnings but doesn't run any scripts.
3. If you set Active scripting to "Prompt, IE asks you to confirm each
script's execution on a page, with an alert box:
"Scripts are usually safe. Do you want to allow scripts to run?"
See image of alert box here:
http://www.windowsitpro.com/Files/15/21199/Figure_02.gif

that is the alert box i am getting however if i disable scripting it disables
javascript which i need active....i have checked and double checked and
everything is either enaled or disabled excluding the ones stated in last
reply...is there somewhere else that effects these settings?

The Registry key that controls that Active Scripting
setting(URLACTION_SCRIPT_RUN) for the Internet Zone is located here:

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings\Zones\3

DWORD value = 1400

Possible Data values for that DWORD value 1400, that correspond to the
settings you make in Internet Options are:

Data Value = 0 (Enabled)
Data Value = 1 (Prompt)
Data Value =3 (Disabled)

If you have Active Scripting enabled in the Internet Zone Custom level, you
should see a Data Value of 0(zero).

Otherwise you might check your third party Security application(s) for any
similar settings regarding JavaScript that might be triggering this alert
for you.

Good luck,

Donald Anadell

1. Does the problem persist if you Reset IE7 Settings (RIES)?
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923737 <= Read before using!

2. If you uninstall (a) IE7 (which automatically returns you to IE6), (b)
all toolbars and (c) all third-party Windows Themes (including Window
Blinds) and do NOT reinstall IE7, does this behavior persist? If it does,
do NOT reinstall IE7.

3. Required reading IMHO before reinstalling IE7:

[And I strongly recommend using
http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/ie/getitnow.mspx as the
installation source, not Automatic/Windows Update.]

Make *certain* that you check in at Windows Update immediately after
reinstalling IE7 to install any critical updates offered. If Optional
Updates category offers Root Certificates update, I recommend installing it
to take full advantage of IE7's additional security.
