alert when negative number is in a cell?

Can anyone help??

I am trying to write a code that alerts the user when a negative numbe
(<0) is in a range of cells?

Can anyone help please?

You can use conditional formatting: select the range of cells, the use
Format | Conditional Formatting... then use Cell Value... Is less than.. 0
and set the formatting to a red background.

Is that a sufficient alert?
