The triggered reminder window can be set to pop up automatically, and to

You betcha >> "Alarm Clock"ScreenShots >>> http://cinnamonsoftware.com/ac_body.htm#ScreenShots
(You can turn off the weird cartoon genie if desired.)

I tried a dozen or so, and this one continues to blow my mind. I've
been using it on a WinXP machine, with NO problems since installation
several months ago. You can set up one, multi, or a full year's worth
of alarms, hit snooze, etc. I've got it rigged to show me birthday and
bill payment reminders. A cartoon bubble appears on screen, showing
the data I've entered (my option), while playing whichever sound file
I've selected: wav, Win Media, MP3, MIDI, Apple Audio or Sun Audio.
Intuitive enough that I've yet to crack the manual.

Full formal description:

clock. The New Alarm Wizard makes adding an alarm fast and easy.
-- Talking Alarm Clock's windows are easy on the eye, with soft colors
and gentle transitions. There's also help balloon that shows a full
explanation of each part of the Alarm Clock window.
