Hey everyone, I'm hoping you guys can help me again. You're batting 1.000
so far
. Anyways I'm currently searching for an alarm clock/appointment
type app. IE sits in the system tray, lets me make "appointments" then
lets it remind me.
How do you like to be reminded? Pop-up message screen? Sound file? Run
prog? Note that a scheduler that has the third item can then of course
do the other two, launch a wav or whichever. Some schedulers, on the
other hand, will only have pop-up and/or sound as means of reminding you.
Once that simpler criteria settled, then the tricky part is finding an
interface that you like. I don't have any strong recommends for you
myself - hopefully others will - but I'd say if you were to get to see
screenshots in advance, it'll make choosing easier. A good freeware
website with a category page for this would be useful (again here I'm
hoping others can suggest).
Also it would be nice if this app would allow you to
set a timer for like a few minutes as well. If not I can work with the
appointments only.
The first I'd categorize a scheduler, where this second item I'd call a
countdown timer. To config a scheduler to do a reminder in X minutes,
it's usually still multi-step, using that same process as you do for
"Tues 28 Oct 9am; One Time."
If you want to have a countdown feature that only reqs you click once
or twice to get it going, would you consider having a second program for
that part? If answer were yes, I can probably recommend something in
this category, ie quick countdown timer. Same question as scheduler
would apply: Remind by message / sound / run file/prog ?
