Yesterday someone suggested the internal speaker may be stuck. We reformatted the hard drive and still have the "alarm".
The only thing I did is try to install a program when this alarm started. I uninstalled the program (thinking it was causing a problem with Windows XP Pro) but it still happens. We even put in a different hard drive. I know nothing about XP PRO (only had it for a few days). Someone must have heard this BEEP BEEP BEEP on their computer. I sure would like to be able to use this new computer. Everything seems to work fine just have the loud alarm going off contsantly.

PLEASE some one HELP!!

Longshot, but do you have any keys stuck on your keyboard. I had the zero
key stuck down once, and spent two hours trying to figure out what the
beeping was all about before I discovered the stuck key.

Usually the internal speaker beeps when there is an overtemp, a power supply
problem, or something else amiss on the motherboard. Check with the
manufacturer.

Are you using one of the better and more equipped motherboards, like those
made by MSI (www.msi.com.tw)? They provide very high quality boards, but
often with dozens of useful (but baffling to some) features.

The 'beeping' may be the 'Chasis Intrution' alarm, this is set off if you
take of the side while it is on, it is sometimes set off by other things
though, like lighted 90mm fans, or neon-lights. To reset or turn off this
alarm on motherboards equipped with this feature do so through the BIOS.

It could also be your motheboard warning you that your CPU or your
motherboard itself are too hot, you can increase the temperature at which it
warns you in the BIOS, or though if this is the problem, you really should
buy a newer, better heatsink/fan and make it your top priority to keep your
computer cool.

Hope this helps!
