AIW9K Unstable

It seems with every upgrade, my ATI software becomes more unstable. Last
week I upgraded to version 3.7 drivers. Today I upgraded to MMC 8.6 and
Remote Control 2.0.

Time delay viewing has become useless. If I pause a broadcast, sound
becomes choppy or else the system eventually becomes unresponsive.

Interestingly, Windows XP has not offered to send a crash report.

Another interesting issue is that the ATI Multimedia Center Configuration PC
Test reports that my 3.06GHz Hyperthreading Pentium 4 does not support MMX
instructions.

no worries bug reported all runs excellent (for once here) 7500 / 9700 AIW's

What board...and if its VIA chippsetted have you done the 4in1's , MB updates?

Thanks for your attention JAD.

The main board is an Intel D865Perl with a matched pair of 512MB 400MHz Dual
Channel DDR. I feel confidence the system is fast enough. <grin> The AGP
slot supports 8x, but I believe the AIW9K is 4x. The harddisk is an
ordinary WD IDE 60GB drive.

Everything seemed fairly stable at first. I upgraded the software to fix
some minor problem that I don't recall. I noticed a few more crashes after
that. But after the upgrade from MMC 8.5 to 8.6 and Remote Control 1.5 to
2.0, the time-shift viewing has become unusable.

I'm not aware of any mainboard updates. I'll check Intel's web site.
