AIW 9800 Pro crashing after codec install

I installed the Ace Codec Pak and ever since my ATI TV gets the "ATIMMC.EXE
has encountered a problem and needs to close" message. I uninstalled the
driver and ran Norton System Works to clean up all the crap it left in the
registry. Unfortunately, I still get the error! Any suggestions? I do NOT
want to reformat my hard drive.

If your OS is XP try System Restore to the night before?

Be careful with this though as unless you have told it otherwise it can
restore all drives to their state at that time (i.e. losing your new or
changed downloads or documents - make backups first).

Otherwise try google with those keywords Ace Codec ATIMMC or something?
 
It is XP, but too late for system restore...

I have used System Restore quite a lot to get myself out of a mess. It's
ideal for bad driver installs, or those times when some mysterious setup
problem occurs. The system and applications are restored to the state they
were at the time the restore point was created, but anything you have
created like docs and saved games etc. are kept.
