I just installed a new ATI AIW 9800 Pro under WinXP Pro. Wolfenstein:ET
won't start with the Cat 3.9 drivers. I tried turning off Fast Writes but
it didn't make any difference.

The game performs fine with the Cat 3.7 drivers. I did not try the 3.8's
becuase of some of the comments here.

Any tips on how to get Wolfenstein:ET to work with the Cat 3.9 drivers?

TIA,
P.

It seems that Cat 3.8 and Cat 3.9 have some serious OpenGL problems.
With Cat 3.8 and Cat 3.9, I am unable to run Lightwave 7.5c, Deus Ex and
Halo.
Others have had big OpenGL issues with 3.8 and 3.9 also.
Some people have had no problems with Cat 3.9 and OpenGL progs, but they are
running WindowsXP.
I'm running Windows 2000 SP4. It is -possible- that it depends on witch OS
you're using.
I have had to go back to using Cat 3.7 only.

I found this on the ATI site and it did fix this problem:

Hrm... I wonder if this is how an ATI video card is detected for the newer
versions of the MMC. Might make it possible to install the newer MediaCentre
on systems that it normally wouldn't install on... Just modify your
videocard name to start with "Radeon"
