I have an AIW 9600 that is having installation problems. After installing
the drivers, it loops to the login screen and if it does sign in, it has
lots of drivers that do not load.

Problem exists under two different boards, an Asus A7V333 (Via chip) and a
Gigabyte 850.

I tried the CAT 3.8, 3.7,3.6 3.4 drivers with same results under Windows
2000. On the Via, I also tried the Hyperion drivers and several older
versions as well.

Thanks for any suggestions,
Neon

I had similar problems and came across this in the 3.8 driver install
folder.

Data corruption may occur if the Large System Cache feature is enabled
in Windows XP.

For complete details see;
http://www.ati.com/support/infobase/4217.html

This symptom does not occur on all systems. The key ingredients that
lead to this symptom may include:

- System Memory greater than 512 Meg. (1 gigabyte of RAM is
common)
- Large NTFS disk volumes. And multiple large volumes. (60-100
gigabyte hard drives possibly in RAID arrays)
- AGP graphics with large AGP resource requirements (AGP aperture
greater than default)
- Large file transfers

To avoid this symptom ensure the System Cache option is NOT selected
for Memory usage. Use the Programs option.

- right-click on the My Computer Icon then Properties to open the
System Properties dialog box
- select the Advanced Tab then the Settings button under
Performance
- select the Advanced tab on the Performance options tab
- in the Memory Usage area, ensure the Programs radio button is
selected
- Apply the changes and select OK

I changed my AGP aperture to 128 and changed the setting above to
programs and everything has worked just fine since. Since I did both
of these at the same time I couldn't tell you which one actually
solved the problem.

I have an ATI Radeon 9600 Pro, and I get the same problem exactly.
This is with Windows 2000 - SP4, 512 MB, Soyo motherboard, 128 AGP
aperture, 4X AGP.

No solution as of yet...I have reinstalled the driver but it still
didn't work.

help.......
