I'm always amazed at the quick solutions that appear here for the most
obtuse problems...so, hopefully, you guys will be able to help me, too.
I've got an AIW 9000 Pro that came bundled with my HP A250y PC. I've
got 1 gig of RAM, and a Creative Sound Blaster Audigy 2 sound card.
All I want to do is capture some material from a VHS cassette for later
editing. I can capture the video with no problem, but there's never any
accompanying sound. For the life of me, I can't figure out how to get
picture *AND* sound from the capture.
From the back of the VCR, I go from VIDEO OUT into the yellow component
video IN jack on the ATI input block that's connected to A/V IN on the
back of the AIW card. My VCR only has one AUDIO OUT jack (its an old
VCR), and I go from that into either the white or red AUDIO IN jack on
the ATI input block - it doesn't matter which one, I still get no audio.
Is there some setting I need to adjust somewhere else that will allow me
to capture audio as well as video when I dump material from my VCR into
my capture program? Does something need to be connected to the actual
sound card's LINE IN jack? I'm confused and headache-y.
Hope I've been clear about this...
