Hello
I am a mac newbie, i have a pc ethernet network at home (pc is wired to my
broadband draytek 2600we router) , i have a g4 powerbook which works fine on
the net and gets a dhcp ip from the router while using the ethernet port.
But i wanted to go all wifi with the mac so i bought and fitted an aiport
card... the mac seems to see the airport card but when i unplug from the
ethernet it does not connect to the router, it looses its ip. All i want is
the internet to work over the airport card. Do i need to change any other
settings?

please help

Jay

Hi Jay!

Your network connection will not fail-over to Airport when you disconnect
from the wire. You'll need to make sure that your TCP/IP Control Panel (Mac
OS 9) or Network System Preferences (Mac OS X) are set to use the Airport
card at its network connection.

Hope this helps! bill

I discovered this Bill, you were right.....

i was kind of shocked when it worked and i was browsing without wires !!!
