i am using 2003 outlook and can't figute out how to best input a flight that
originates, say at 11am est in nyc and lands at 10pm local time in europe?

do i have to recalc the arrival time for est and input that? how is that
handled/accepted by an invitee using 2007?

Are you using the second time zone option?

I can (and just started to ) use the second time zone, but if I understand
correctly, this doesnt affect how appointements are input or stored - its
just a secondary display.

It looks like you can enter an appoitment start or end time AND denote the
time zone in 2007 version but NOT 2003. So, I always have to do "time zone
math" as others have called it to calculate the depart (or arrival) time in
the other (home or destination) time zone....it would be easiest to input
start time (and its zone) and end time (and ITS zone) if that is possible in
this version.

with dual zones you don't have to do as much calculating - look for the 10
pm "local" time and get the time from the est zone. Or upgrade to 2007
because its a feature that will not be added to 2003.

FWIW, I don't change the computer time zone when I travel. I use a clock
utility that displays the time in other zones and hide the windows clock to
avoid confusion. I enter appointments as if my zone is always local.
