After sending data once to any person on the buddy list, AIM Expess is not
responding (and the input window no longer accepts any entry). Any ideas

The last time that I checked, AIM was not a component of the MS Internet
Explorer browser. You will probably find help by setting your news reader to
find the news group "alt.aol.tricks", or some such. Although I use it, I
have had no similar problem, so no experience of fixing it.
