Aida 3.90?

On my machine, Aida 3.85 runs fine in W98SE.

Seeing that Aida development is over, I d/l version 3.93. When I run it,
I see the usual splash screen, but then it shows a BSOD with Fatal
Exception Error.

Since I'd like to wind up with something later than 3.85, I searched on
Google and only see 3.93.

Does anyone have a version like 3.90 on their website that I can d/l?

Try http://www.aida32.hu/download/aida32ee_390.exe and
http://www.aida32.hu/download/aida32ee_390.zip . I only tried the ZIP
file, but it is--as the filename suggests--3.90. I would suspect that
the EXE also contains 3.90 as well. I also have, locally saved,
3.92.1, 3.90.6 Preview, 3.89.2 Preview, 3.88.5, and 3.86.6. If you
want any/all of them, let me know and I can up it to my webspace.

As posted on the site;

AIDA32 development is finished / Befejezodött az AIDA32 fejlesztése
2004-03-24 02:57 CET (Fiery)
As of March 24, 2004 we have decided to discontinue the development project that we all know as AIDA32. Development of AIDA32 has
been started years ago, and the project went first public in April 2001. AIDA32 has become the de facto standard for both home and
corporate system diagnosis and network audit, winning several awards including "Freeware Product of the Year" by Support Alert
newsletter in December 2002.

Aida32.hu has well served this project almost without any issues, providing access to over half a million of users in 150 countries
worldwide. For the exceptional quality of service, we'd like to send our special thanks to Hunet Kft, our internet service provider
and software supplier.

To help you find products to relieve AIDA32, hereby we publish our favorites:

Thanks for the link, and ver. 3.90 works fine on my machine, since I
have an old P166, the later versions likely would not matter anyway.

As Doc mentioned with 3.93 on his machine, each computer can react
differently to a program.

I have found a site that has 3.94.2 back to 3.75.8 they appear to
be zipped, but on looking at zip contents they seem to have
one file of 1079 called aida32.bin type AVG Update file ??????
Though on unzipping this disappears.
http://www.tweakzone.nl/downloads/4800

Try doing an install of a version, and then replacing the original
aida32.bin with the one from the zip file.

Just an idea...

Thanks for the info. There are some useful changes in 3.92 over 3.90.

In your eariier post, you mentioned you could post 3.92.1 on a website.
Can you go ahead with that? With a URL, I can d/l it and try it. I have
always used the personal, no-install version, as it is a little smaller.

Thanks for your help,

There's also 3.94.2, which was announced at

Unfortunately, though, there's no change log, and the
Information--What's New doesn't provide any insight either. The
build date for this one is 3/23/2004. If anyone wants it, the
Softpedia still appears to work.

Thanks, dkd. The d/l worked fine.

As sort of a final result, it looks like 3.90 is the last version my
machine can run. With 3.92, the splash screen opens, then a BDOD, like
happened with 3.93. Something in Aida coding must have changed.
