Way back in 2005 AMD threw down the gauntlet to Intel for a "Head to Head" ... Intel declined, they still won't put up.

You'll find an independent review on the net ... save you looking, the winner was AMD ...

The very latest Extreme Edition Pentium D just about matches an X2

But it is nearly £1000

whereas an x2 4800 is about £400 i believe?

Nuff said :)

Only Intel system I've ever used was a 386, where the CPU was actually soldered into the motherboard.

Which kinda tells you where my loyalties lie ;)

im running an amd dual core atm and im stuck to amd no moving over to intel amd is cheeper it runs cooler and they imo are better:thumb:

never say die

the new intel processors that will be coming out are probably going to whip AMD, and they are cheaper and faster and cooler and use less power

all developed in Israel, and based on the Pentium M's

But ill still use AMD, because I juset like them better. Intel don't need my money, and i don't want to give it to them
