ABIT-BE6 motherboard
HPT366 chipset
Maxtor 6800 Primary Master (IDE 3)
Maxtor Primary Slave (IDE 3)
The two are on the same cable 80 wire/40 pin. Black(end) to master,
grey(middle) to secondary
RAGE 128 Pro grahic card (IDE 1)
Primary Master is cut into several partitions; C: (Primary)FAT32 holds
Win98SE, D(NTFS)holds win2000, E: (NTFS)Holds WinXP, F(FAT32) holds
programs, GFAT32) holds games, FFAT32) general use for now.
Primary Slave GFAT32) , FFAT32)
When loading Win2000 and XP I had problems so I removed everything but the
Primary Master and Video Card. Loaded fine. After reconnecting the Primary
Slave Drive Win2000 and XP hangs on the AGP440.sys file. Win98SE loads
with no problems.
I moved the Primary Slave to IDE 2, to leave to as a slave for now, and now
they all boot up fine. I thought it might be an IRQ problem but I can't
find a way to adjust them in the device manager. Anybody have a solution or
links to help me with this little problem?
I've seen the AGP440.sys problem metioned around the net, but nothing
that I seen related to installing a second harddrive. TIA )
