8x gpu, 8x chipset, 8x optimal but the OS (XP Pro SP2) is 2x. can i change

Have you checked your BIOS settings for AGP speed?

video drivers?? agp motherboard drivers.. have had to play with versions no
some boards..
what are you using??
OS doesn't do agp. vid drivers do..

you probably need to install the drivers for AGP that came with your
motherboard
if it as a via chipset look into the 4 in 1 drivers from www.viaarena.com

AGP rate on the driver screen is shown as 8x. BIOS is set at 8x too.
Everything is showing it at 8X except for the 81.84 driver. On AGP Settings
it shows a chart with the GPU chipset, OS and optimal. All are 8x except
the OS and it's showing 2x. Below this on the same screen it shows AGP Rate
on a Slider and it's at 8x.
Is this just an error on the drivers part or am i missing something.
