Windows XpSP3 system with an Abit AV8 MB (AGP VIA Chip Set). Was trying to
look up the AGP driver for this when I discovered there was not an entry.
(Device Manager/System Devices/ there is not an entry for AGP). Currently
using ATI CCC for the Radeon X1650 graphics card. System appears normal.
Question, shouldn't there be an xxx.sys driver there?

Sometime, the AGP slot drivers are not correctly loaded. Locate and
install the VIA Hyperion chipset drivers. You might have to re-
install the ATi drivers.

Found the Hyperion drivers, probably should remove the ATi drivers first?
but would you think there should be an entry under system devices for AGP??
System runs fine on XP and Vista but would fail on Win7 (video side I am
guessing) is what started this investigation. (I use removable HDD's for
each system)

Can not say anything about Windows 7 as it is still in BETA tests, so
it is not an official released version of Windows.

I do use Vista but I have seen XP systems where the AGP video card is
unfortunately set in PCI mode instead. This compatibility mode will
tend to "lame" the AGP video card, to some extent. Once the chipset
drivers are installed, with a correct AGP slot, most AGP video card
drivers then will show most of the features / settings that the video
card manufacturer provide.
