Is there any modern ATI graphic card, that supports AGP 1.0 (x2)? I
intend to put the fastest possible video into my old socket7 system.
Thanks
Be careful. Even if you find a card where the specs match, your old mobo
might not be able to supply enough power (Watts) to a newer video card. I
ran into this problem with my old slot 1 AGP V1.0 board trying to run a
lowley GF2MX card. The spec sheet said that it should work, but it would
lock up as soon as I tried to run anything that requrired 3D processing.
Seems that even though the voltages were right, 3D processing sucked too
much current from the MoBo so the voltage dropped off. Remember watts =
voltage x current. Power requirements (watts not volts) never seem to be
mentioned on the spec sheets. Even if you have a skookum power supply, the
Mobo must be able to deliver the electrons to your card.
