Is anyone using the free version of Agnitum Outpost?
So, what can you tell us?

I have been using it for approx a year. It suits my style of surfing and I
find it very easy to set up and maintain.

Its just one level of my multi-layered defenses.

Never had a nasty, (using IE and OE too) so something is working well.
Win98FE.

Hello,

I use it for a long time now and it fits my needs perfectly.

As the freeware version is not updated anymore I tried the two
alternatives (kerio and sygate) recently and found them both
harder to use and with less features. But that may be my
personal point of view.

Thorsten

I used outpost from version 1 and now outpost pro.I found outpost 1 a good
firewall though its not supported with updates now , and it does fail
certain leaktests (which most of the other firewalls have at some time or
another i may add). From your earlier post i notice that you use
proxomitron?...if thats the case and you trial outpost 1 ,then i would
suggest going to options>system>global application and system rules and
UNTICKING the allow loopback box.(I believe its enabled by default). This
will prevent the loopback /proxy problem. You may also find info here to help
you in your setup.
