Agfa T-5000 with Windows 2000

Hi,

I have tried to test old Agfa T-5000 with ColorExact 1.5 in Windows 2000.
(Adaptec 2904 card) It finds the scanner allright but if try to take
prescan it reports Scanner Error. I've tried everything fom shorter cable
to removing all the 'unnecessary' hardware and software like sound card
and virus scanner.

Has anone managed to use T-5000 and COlorExact with Win 2000 or XP?

Unfortunately VueScan does not support T-5000 but I found an interesting
question from VueScan FAQ: Question: I have an older SCSI scanner on
Windows XP. How can I get it working with VueScan? Answer: Older SCSI
scanners on Windows XP need ASPI installed.

Does this mean that ASPI may help? I have not had a chance to test it yet.

PS T-5000 is more like furniture than a scanner but it is still working
well and I would get it really cheap.

Yes ... it will probably fix the problem you are having. You can download
it from Adaptec's web site.

Unfortunately it did not. Luckily I will get a used G3 to boot.
