can anyone tell me where i can obtain an xp driver for an
AGFA CL30 digital camera. i am a complete novice so
please keep it as simple as possible

AGFA has a driver on their site, it is old, 1999...
http://support.agfa.com/support/EN/swDownload1.jsp

There is a driver here, you must register but it is free and painless

This was also on the AGFA site, maybe the TWAIN solution will work for you.

Question
I connected my CL30 to USB on my Windows Me machine and PhotoWise doesn't find the
camera. How do I fix this?

Answer
At this moment we do not have specific Windows Me drivers for the CL30. However, the
Windows 2000 TWAIN driver for the CL30 Clik! will also recognize the CL30.

1. Download the CL30 Clik! TWAIN driver (v 1.06.8) for Windows 2000 from the software
library at http://support.agfa.com/support/EN/swDownload1.jsp. Install this TWAIN
driver. Leave your existing PhotoWise/CL30 installation intact - do not uninstall it.

2. You should now be able to use File -> Acquire from within PhotoWise (or any other
'TWAIN aware' application) to access the CL30 Clik! TWAIN driver and download images
from your CL30.

Take into account that this procedure will not cause PhotoWise to recognize the
camera. It just supplies an alternate method of accessing the images through TWAIN.
Camera -> Controls... and other CL30 specific functions in PhotoWise will still not
work with this setup.

Note for Windows 2000 users: unfortunately this solution doesn't work on Windows
2000. The only possibility on this platform is to connect the camera using the serial
connection.
