my age of empires 3 game installed and it worked perfectly. I uninstalled it
and reinstalled it but this time it stopped installing Error 1935. An error
occurred during the installation of assembly ''''''''Microsoft. MSXML2,
PublicKeyToken= "6bd6b9abf345278f" version=4.1.0.0,type=, processor=x86
HRESULT: 0x80070002. then after I press ok it starts rolling back action then
a error 1603 accured. it tells me to consult windows installer help
(Msi.chm)or MSDN for more information.

Hi hakzor,

When running an installation, you receive the following error message:
"Error 1603: Fatal Error During Installation" Or you may get the following error:
"Error 1603: General Windows Installer engine error. Increase DiskSpace..."

Here are some reasons and recommended solutions for that issue:

1. Click My Computer / Rightclick the Drive & Choose Properties
/ Run the "Disk Cleanup..." / Next Click the "Tools" Tab and run
the "Error-Checking" and "Defragmentation" utilities.

2. Clean the Temp Directory. Click START > Run and type:
%temp%
Select all files and delete them. If a file is locked, skip that file and continue
deleting the rest of the files in that directory.

3. A certain file on the machine is locked. To fix this:
Close all applications running in the background.
Reboot your computer.
Run the installation again.

4. If you are using Windows 95, 98, ME, 2000, or NT, the Windows Installer Service
may not be properly installed on the machine. Update the system with the latest
Windows Installer Service by following the instructions in
http://consumer.installshield.com/kb.asp?id=Q108201

5. On Windows NT, 2000, or XP, make sure you have administrative privileges.

6. Use Microsoft's Windows Installer Cleanup utility to remove traces of previous
installations. http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;290301

Hi hakzor,

Sure do. In fact there's a similar error documented for a painshop install here:
http://www.experts-exchange.com/Operating_Systems/WinXP/Q_21154302.html

And Microsoft has documented that error message in this solution article:
http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=kb;en-us;839547

Although neither article is specific to AOE III, the overall solution approach does apply.

Hi hakzor,

This issue occurs on some systems depending on the system configuration and privileges
set for the user. Listed below are some common causes of this error message:

1.. The user does not have administrative privileges on the machine.
This pertains to Windows NT, 2000, or XP machines.

2.. The ALLUSERS property is not set appropriately for the IsScript.msi file.
This is only true for the Installation of Express 3.54 itself. Express 3.54 setup
is based on InstallScript, leading to this error message.

3.. Permissions are not set appropriately on the Installer folder in the Windows folder.

4.. An older version of InstallShield Express 3.x is installed on the machine, and
the older version fails to uninstall properly. This usually happens when upgrading
Express from an older version to a newer one.

5.. Multiple instances of files Msiexec.exe or IDriver.exe may be running in the memory.

6.. Windows Installer Service may not be properly installed or configured on the machine.

7.. The setup is trying to remove a file that is locked on the machine. This issue generally
occurs when setup is being removed using the Remove option of the Add Remove
Programs applet on Windows XP, 2000, or ME.

RESOLUTION:

To solve this issue use the solutions outlined in this article:
http://support.installshield.com/kb/view.asp?pcode=ALL&articleid=Q107094

If you the same error continues this article has 12 additional solutions:

Hi hakzor,

You installed it again after the errors were gone...
Does that mean that you were able to successfully install it the last time?

When you state that you did everything, does that include the updates?
If so, which updates did you download and install?

ok i downloaded the framework 2.0 and it was installed already so i clicked
fix...
it asked for the computer to restart so i clicked ok and when it was loading
up again it asked if i wanted to skip the search or checking data or
something like that. so it opened up to a blue screen and was checking 1of5.
the 4th was checking disk space.

| ok i downloaded the framework 2.0 and it was installed already so i clicked
| fix...
| it asked for the computer to restart so i clicked ok and when it was loading
| up again it asked if i wanted to skip the search or checking data or
| something like that. so it opened up to a blue screen and was checking 1of5.
| the 4th was checking disk space.

|| Hi hakzor,
||
|| You installed it again after the errors were gone...
|| Does that mean that you were able to successfully install it the last time?
||
|| When you state that you did everything, does that include the updates?
|| If so, which updates did you download and install?
