Again unable ukpdate

Two weeks of install and reinstall Defender beta 2 but every check for
updates get the same old error: 0x80240022 "Unable to complete update." Wrong
disk in drive.
Insert %2 (Vol sernial number %3) into drive %1

Dell XPS Gen4 Win XP Pro

Any ideas?..

I plan to completely remove This beta 2 and not try it any more and
continue to use Spysweeper,AdaWare and Spybot which have given no probelms
at all.
 
Well now, guess I'll keep the darn thing as I got it all fixed and working
just like uptown
 
Have you tried this:
(From Steve Dodson, in response to a similar query)


1) Uninstall WD thru Add and Remove Programs

2) Launch cmd prompt

3) MsiExec.exe /x {A5CC2A09-E9D3-49EC-923D-03874BBD4C2C}

4) Delete all contents of Directory of C:\Documents and Settings\All
Users\Application Data\Microsoft\Windows Defender\Definition Updates

5) Reinstall WD

Let me know if that works for you.

Many thanks Steve but I have it working now and it seems the problem was
Spysweeper blocking the net connection.
Idisabled Sweeper and Defenter installed and updated with no sweat.
