Again setting IRQs

Well, I have learned that ACPI mode IRQs are not configurable, but
supposedly they are if you loaded XP with F5 and chose Standard computer,
but I did that and still cannot change my IRQs. I am having a problem with
my on board sound as it is sharing with my SCSI card and ether net so would
like to try and move it to see if it will stop the skipping.
Anyone know how to change the IRQ in Standard Computer mode?

The general answer is not from XP... the only way I know of is either in
CMOS - depending on how flexible your BIOS is or by physically moving the
SCSI controler card to a different slot.

Having said that, today it is very common for systems to share IRQ's - you
were originally using APIC as well as ACPI. This can also usually be turned
on/off in CMOS. However, regardless of what you do expect that there will
be sharing! There is virtually no MB that does not have each PCI slot's IRQ
shared with something else!

Good Luck,
Len

But then again if the cards in question are not designed to be capable of
sharing they sometimes won't. So the BIOS setting may be the answer. Or not.
