Hello,

first of all I would like to say thank you to AR Q and patrickp for their
help.
Finally I'm glad to could install the ATI MMC.

Now I've got the next problem. When I start the TV-Program the
Initialization Wizard comes first.
At the window "TV Channels Initialization Wizard, Step 1" I should select a
proper cable or antenna. Usually there should be some country cable
standards. But the selectionbox is empty. So I cannot continue the wizard
and finally not start the TV.

What can I do?

This one is I can't help. Mine is NTSC version. For step 1, United States of
America is the first choice, there are about other 60 countries to choose
from, not including Germany since Germany doesn't use NTSC. Normally I just
chose USA, cable then click auto scan, then I proceed to the next screen of
the wizard. Perhaps other PAL system users could help you. Or you could
download different MMC from ATI Europe web site?

Have you installed the DX 9.0b update, Werner? Unfortunately, this has the
effect, apparently of messing up PAL tuners. This is apparently the
symptom: the channel selection options are greyed out.

If this is the case, you need to roll back your system to before the DX
upgrade, try a DirectX uninstaller (possibly risky; I've never tried one and
have no idea how effective they are), or wait for the fix: M$ have
apparently held their hands up to this and are supposed to be trying to
produce a solution as fast as they can.

Sorry the news isn't better! :-(

Typical! Trust Microsoft to cock it up. Maybe I should send Bill Gates
an invoice for the entire weekend I've just spent reinstalling drivers
and cursing ATI.

Anyway, the good news is that having found this thread I dug around and
discovered that M$ have issued a fix for the problem, which can be
downloaded from: -

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...6D-E177-4A0E-91D0-B4310675B02B&displaylang=en

(beware of possible line-wrap in the above URL in this message).

Hope this helps any of you who still have the problem.

Cheers,

Keith
