Afternoon lagging

I am finding some of my users face lagging on some
applications running through terminal services in the
afternoon. I have a W2K network (an accounting firm with
29 users) with a DC that has dual 1.4's and 2 gig of
memory and 2 term servers with the same specs and a file
server with a 1.4 and 1 gig of memory. It seems to happen
a lot in Excel. Now I know some of the Excel spreadsheets
they open are relatively large with a lot of links
attached to them (these files reside on the file server).
Would adding another gig of memory to the file server help
the lag situation or does anybody know of any other
solutions???

Very little, I would guess.
If you suspect the Fileserver to be the cause of the performance problem,
then I would look at the harddisk and the networkcard.
On the TS, it could be more or less anything.
Use Task Maneger and Performance Monitor on the TS, I meant.

Depending on your infrastructure hardware, you may want
to take a look behind the scenes as well...your routers
and switches may provide SNMP clues as to what interfaces
(if any) are actually bottlenecked. It would help to
diagnose if it is network related or not.

Thanks,
