Can there be anything better than WMA Lossless?

I read MP3 is morphing to include 3D soround sound, what does WMA lack that
will require it to be updated?

I read on ZDnet or NewScientist about some far out theatre system, with all
this special stuff, you know to superceed dolby and all that. How safe are my
files when I encode them in lossless?

Do a Google search for information. Below is some you can look at.
Windows Media Audio 9 Lossless
This is a great codec to use for archiving your CD collections. You can copy
tracks from CDs into this lossless format for efficient storage. Then you can
transfer the tracks to Windows Media Audio 9–based CDs for playback.

I have tried a Google search but have found nothing relating to the
generation after WMA 9, I might be looking with the wrong key words but
Google is pretty good at knowing what people want.

WMA9 does do suround sound already, I thought so. As for that tool to
convert to uncompressed PCM I am not looking for that, but I can see how it
would be useful thanks.

So WMA9 looks pretty rock solid and lossless as its name suggests does as it
says. But I can't help thinking there will be something else?
