After Windows updates Power Users cannot install UPNP router

Whenever Windows automatic updates are applied and my users' systems restart
they receive a prompt that a new UPNP hardware device was found but even if
they click on the device and attempt to logon the sytem seems to prevent the
device from being added or establishing the connection because they are part
of the Power Users group and are not logged on as Administrators. If I do
a switch user and logon as administrator then open the UPNP device (Linksys
Network Everywhere NR041) and accept the PPOE settings it will establish an
internet connection after which point everyone can access the network. What
is the best way to resolve this issue? Should I modify the power user group
to allow adding hardware or is there a way to permanently install the device
so it does not think it is a new device after performing windows updates.
Note: The problem only occurs after Windows updates force a restart; normal
rebooting retains the device and internet connection even when power users
logon.

Most routers can be set to have UPNP disabled. Can you disable it on
yours (Unless you need it for other hardware?)
