I have IE6 Sp 1 installed and have just upgraded from W2K Pro to XP
Pro.

When I now try to access a secure Web site ( my Bank ) I get the
following error message :-

" A Runtime Error has occurred - Do you want to Debug ?

Line 54
Error: Object doesn't support this property or method "

Clicking YES to this just repeats the message .

Is this to do with Java ? How do I resolve this, please ?

Hope soemone who actually knows something helps you out,
but maybe there's a tip in my experience. If it's
something specific to Pro - no idea, but...Were you
running IE SP1 before installing XP? IE in XP works
differently from all the other OSs. If your SP1 isn't
the XP SP1, this might be the problem.

Thanks for the reply.

I did a clean install of XP which , I think ,installed IE 6 SP1 as
part of that although I don't remember checking if that was so at the
time .

I think I've got it working OK now anyway as I also discovered that ,
with XP Pro you don't get an automatic installation of the Java
Virtual Machine - you have to d/l that separately - which I did and it
seems OK now - something to do with a dispute between MS and Sun I
believe .

Hope this will help others.

This helped me. I was unable to access the Citibank pay online
feature after I updated IE6. I went and updated Java at Sun's site
and then it work.

thanks for the hints!
