Anyone else have this problem? I synced outlook on 2 computers by copying the
outlook.pst file. However, on the computer I copied it over onto, outlook is
re-downloading some 1,200 messages! Does anyone know how to put a stop to
this madness?

Also, my address books was copied over as well (part of outlook.pst) and I
can see all my contacts, but when I want to write a new e-mail and hit "To"
it says "the address list could not be displayed". Weird??

Of course it it is. Computer 2 has no idea what messages Computer 1
downloaded, since that information isn't stored in the PST.

Let it finish and then delete the duplicates.

Not weird at all. You have to enable the COntacts folder as an address book
on the second machine. Did you even install the Outlook Address Book as a
service on the second machine? That information, also, is not kept in the
PST.

I understand that computer 2 doesn't know what messages computer 1 downloaded
because it isn't stored in the pst, but does anyone know where it is stored?
I'd rather not have to go and delete 1200 duplicates.

It's called the UIDL cache and, you know, I've never been able to figure
that out. I'd be interested in knowing as well.
