After reinstalling IE, it's still messed up

Hello,
Well, I reinstalled IE because I'm having some problems:
#1: The IE icon in the address bar it's not the comon
blue icon (To see what the icon looks like:

#2: Some pages are not loading- example: This newsgroup
(even if I hit Refresh), so I'm using MSN Explorer 8
right now.
And I was hoping all this was going to get fixed after
reinstalling IE, and I also tried to repair it- but NO,
it didn't fix anything :/ Is it maybe because it didn't
reinstall right? Because I still have all my Favorites,
and I have no updates at the moment... So, I really want
to get this fixed- it's very frustrating.
