After ReInstall the network connection wizard has problems

Hi,
I reinstalled WindowsXP to fix some glitches I was having rending avi files, During installation I selected the Upgrade selection and everything proceded flawlessly. After I logged in after the installation and tried to setup my internet connection I find that everything is greyed out except the Broadband selection at the bottom so I could not select my modem. I also can not start the Remote Access Connection service, or the Remote Access Auto Connection service. I get the message- Error 5, Access denied. Any Clues?

Yep. You have stuffed a few things. First off, it is likely you did that
install using a pre-SP1 disk on an SP1 installation. The easiest way out is
to install SP1 again and most of the time that fixes the problem entirely,
the missing things coming back into view. If it doesn't fix it, go here for
