Can anyone help me on this problem?
1. When I re-install the Windows 2000 Server due to hardware failure, those
workstations have problem logging on to the domain.
Symtoms : Sometime it took a few tries before the workstations can log into
the domain.
Whenever a try is unsucessful, it will show an error message indicating that
the the Domain Controller is unavailable.
I have a solution to this by rejoining the workstations to the domain again.
However, when I rejoined the workstation (XP)to the domain, it created a new
user profile. Therefore I have to reconfigure the email, desktop settings and
copy files from the previous user profile to the newly created profile after
rejoining the domain.
One or two systems I do not mind, what happen if there are 50 workstations?
This would be very inefficient.
I did also try to create computers(Names) on the network in the Active
Directory, but this does not seems to work as well.
Anyone have a solution or advise which minimal would be done on the
workstations after a Server OS (W2K Server) have been reinstalled.
