after formatting my hard drive.,..?

After I format my hard drive (clearing everything off of it) and
reinstall windows xp, will I have to manually install drivers for my
cd drive, printer, mouse, etc or does Windows do it automatically?

If Windows has the drivers for your devices, it will install them. In some
cases, you might want to go to the manufacturer's web site to get updated
drivers. For your mouse it's not likely to make a difference unless you've
got extra buttons that need to function, but if you've got a nice video or
sound card, you might want the latest and greatest drivers, plus any
utilities that are extra.
 
When you install XP it should install most, if not all, needed drivers. If
you have some older devices XP may not have drivers for them, and you will
have to go the web site for these devices to get the drivers.
