Working with XPE, I have set the cmiResealPhase to "0". I boot my original
XPE image. I make changes to it to get it just right. I think run
fbreseal.exe (no command line options). I have PC reboot and I turn it off.
I then clone that drive.

When the cloned drive first boots up - it always pops a window saying:
System Settings Change
Windows has finished installing new devices....

I suspect this is because XP detects that it is running on a new HDD with a
different serial number of something. If I go back to my master disk and
boot it - I do not get any such message.

Since I want the cloned drives to boot cleanly and not require another
reboot - how can I prevent this message?

As part of system cloning - I have set:
cmiRemoveAutoLogon = FALSE
cmiGenerateComputerName=0
cmiRemoveUserSetting= FALSE
cmiRemoveMountedDevices=FALSE

Thanks,
Scott

I'm not 100% why, but in investigating another problem I looked at the
Norton Ghost documentation and found the -IR switch whichs does a raw image
copy from my master to my destination disk.

After doing a disk to disk copy using the -IR switch, my newly created disk
boots up great and doesn't give me the message noted below.

So- I guess it has to do with the fact the Norton Ghost's default method of
disk to disk copy changes the serial number or something.

Thanks,
Scott

Scott,

I got the same message because of the built in audio on
the motherboard we are using. I went into the BIOS and
disabled the audio and this message goes away. Maybe that
is the same issue you are having???? Hope this helps...
