I have a sheet that conatins cells that are linked by
formula to other cells in another sheet in the same
workbook. If I press F2 to edit the cell and then hit
enter, the cell diplys the formula instead of the result
of the calculation. This doesn't happen in any of my
other workbooks. I do not have the formulas options
cehked in the Tools|Options|Windows Options section of the
dialog box. Does anyone know how to fix this? Thanks for
your help?

I found a way to fix this problem. I formatted the cells
to General and the problem went away. It still seems a
little strange to me why this would occur.

It'll happen again.

Excel tries to help you. If the "sending" cell is formatted as Text, then excel
will convert that "receiving" cell after you edit it. I find this very handy
for dates, but very irritating for Text.
