after converting mp4 to avi

i still cant edit in Movie Maker.

the screen is blank when i drag a clip to the storyboard. however, i am
able to play the avi file in windows media player 10.

pls help. i am almost tearing my hair out trying to edit my videos.

on 2nd thought, would Quicktime Pro do an equally good job in editing?

ps i used MP4cam2AVI v.2.27 to convert.

It converts to DivX which is NOT compatible with WMM.
