I am running windows XP Professional. When my computer
goes into sleep mode and then I wake it up, I cannot get
mail or download any web content. I disable networking
device, which is a speed streem hub, and then enabling it
again, but this does not work. I also try the repair
option in networking tools, this does not work either. Is
there a bug in windows xp that causes this, is there
anyway to fix this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Chris

Try doing a release and renew of your IP instead. When
your computer goes to sleep it remembers the last IP it
had but this IP could be in use by someone else now. Most
ISP's use DHCP which means the pool of available IP's are
shared. To do a release and renew go Start, Run and type
cmd. A DOS screen will come up and type in
ipconfig/release and hit enter. It should come back with
an IP of all 0's. Then type ipconfig/renew and hit enter.
It should give you a new IP and you should be good to go.
To avoid this all together you can shutdown your PC and
it will get you an IP as part of the boot up process.
